More about Shannon Fable

Shannon Fable is a senior education executive, strategist, operator, and longtime leader in the global health, fitness, and wellness industry.

As Senior Vice President of Education at Merrithew, Shannon leads global education strategy and execution across the company’s portfolio, including STOTT PILATES®. Her work sits at the intersection of education, product development, operations, customer experience, and business growth, with a particular focus on turning ambitious ideas into systems, programs, and experiences that can scale.

She is known for quickly identifying what matters, simplifying complexity, and creating the structure required to move from strategy to execution. Whether building a new education experience, evolving a legacy system, launching a new initiative, or aligning teams around a shared direction, Shannon brings equal attention to innovation and implementation.

Her perspective has been shaped by close to 30 years working across nearly every corner of the health, fitness, and wellness industry. Shannon has held senior leadership roles, built and sold a software company, advised organizations, developed education and programming, and worked with brands including the American Council on Exercise, Exos, Anytime Fitness, Schwinn®, Power Systems, SilverSneakers, FIT4MOM, BOSU® and others. She has educated professionals on six continents on leadership, productivity, business development, management, programming and professional growth.

Shannon is the 2013 IDEA Instructor of the Year and 2006 ACE Instructor of the Year, and previously served as Chair of the American Council on Exercise Board of Directors. She has contributed to industry publications, served as a subject matter expert, appeared in more than 25 fitness and management education videos, and continues to write and speak about leadership, execution, education, business and the evolution of the fitness profession.

Entrepreneurship has also shaped the way Shannon leads. Along with her developer husband, she co-founded GroupEx PRO®, software created to operationalize the management and marketing of group fitness programs. The company was acquired by Daxko in 2019. That experience reinforced something that continues to define her work today: a great idea matters far less than the systems, people and discipline required to make it real.

Today, much of Shannon’s work is focused on the future of education and professional development. At Merrithew, that means helping evolve how a globally respected education organization serves students, educators, Instructor Trainers and partners while protecting the standards and substance that have made STOTT PILATES® distinctive for decades.

She also continues to share practical thinking on leadership, productivity, business, education and professional growth, with a bias toward ideas that can actually be put to work.

Fable lives in Boulder with her super tall (and smart) hubby, John, their miracle baby (who’s not a baby anymore), Lily, three cats, six bikes, and lots of Florida Gator memorabilia.
